Success in Norwegian licensing round

E.ON Ruhrgas Norge (ERN) awarded three new licences off Norwegian coast

ERN was assigned operatorship and a 30 % participating interest in PL558 in the latest Norwegian licensing round. PL558 is located between the ongoing Skarv field development and the PL350 licence area, likewise operated by ERN.

The other two licences, PL561 and PL562, are also in the Haltenbanken area.

"With this award we are taking another step towards expansion of our production portfolio," said Haakon Haaland, Managing Director of E.ON Ruhrgas Norge.

Skarv and Idun

ERN has a 28.08 % interest in the ongoing Skarv field development, currently Norway’s largest field development . In the next 10 years, about ERN will produce 1.4 bcm of gas annually from these fields. That is equivalent to the gas consumption of a town with 2.5 million inhabitants.

Upstream interests like Skarv-Idun are important because they expand E.ON's gas supply portfolio.
